This is a Burmese lacquerware betel box, also known as a kun-it.

These cylindrical boxes were traditionally used to store ingredients for betel chewing, which typically involves slices of areca nut mixed with lime paste and wrapped in a betel leaf. Chewing betel nut was a widespread social habit and mild stimulant in many parts of South Asia.

There are 2 spots inside rim that show the wood beneath the lacquer. They cannot be seen when it is put together.

It is 5.5” tall and 5” in Diameter.

I pack all fragile items in double or heavy duty boxes and use lots of bubble wrap. This sometimes increases shipping fees but I want your item to arrive safely.
