I found a kimono chest at my parents' house with the basting threads still attached.
I believe it was made by my grandfather in the Showa era.
I'm not an expert, so I might be wrong, but I think it's a men's lined haori (short coat) made of tsumugi (pongee silk).
The fabric is thick and sturdy. It looks beautiful to the untrained eye.
I can't find the matching kimono, so I hope someone can wear it or use it for remaking.
It has the smell of old clothes.
Some of the basting threads are frayed, but I'll send it as is.
I will fold it up small for shipping.
