The image displays a Japanese 5 yen coin (五円硬貨, Go-en kōka).

Coin is in excellent condition. I'm not sure if it was circulated, but it is wrapped in a mylar coin holder. Beautiful coin

Design:
The coin features a central hole and depicts an ear of rice representing agriculture, water at the bottom representing fisheries, and teeth of a cog around the central hole symbolizing industry.
Significance:
The 5 yen coin is considered lucky in Japan because "go-en" (五円), meaning "5 yen," is a homophone for "go-en" (ご縁), which can mean "affinity" or "good relationship".
Current Design:
The current design of the 5 yen coin, using "new script" Japanese characters in the kaisho style, was first minted in 1959.
